Oberst VonSydrik,

I regret to inform you that two nights ago the armor-suited hero known as MegaMarine infiltrated into a secret outpost and detained 35 troops, 2 officers, and 12 elites; neutralized 25 hover drones, and destroyed the onsite databanks and equipment. The outpost; located beneath Perez Park, Paragon City, RI, USA was our primary tap into the Hero-Corps main database and vital to the Council's plans to subvert the reclamation efforts within Paragon City.

This is the latest of many such raids by the Hero-Corps and their allies, but MegaMarine has distinguished himself (itself?) as a major setback to our operational schedule. This patriotic posterchild's suit makes him a unique threat as its stealth and flight abilities allow him to sneak past sentries and automated defenses, and its EM pulses neutralize equipment, fuse delicate circuits, and erase or scramble data.

Our research into this hero’s background has indicated the following:

  • MegaMarine is an armor suit resulting from a US government/military project to develop an individual combat system capable of defeating metahumans, mutants, and other superpowered opponents.
  • MegaMarine is the prototype suit, although it is rumored the system is readying to enter full production with “blaster,” “tank,” and “defender/medic” versions of the suit.
  • The identity of the individual under the MegaMarine armor is classified beyond any current level of access our agents have achieved.

It is my recommendation that all efforts be made to obtain MegaMarine’s Identity, and to neutralize him at ALL costs.

For the glory of The Council!

Model Notes

This contest was the excuse I needed to finally build a model of my character from the videogame "City of Heroes." MegaMarine was converted from a Heroclix Ironman figure; the left arm was repositioned, his head is a WH40k spacemarine helmet puttied and sanded, the boots are from a WH40k catachan guardsman, the energy blasts are from an X-men storm action figure, and his cape is made of greenstuff. He was then painted GW Regal Blue with detailing in Blood Red, Skull White, Mithril Silver, Chaos black and Ice Blue.

The smaller bad guys are more converted heroclix, with minor trimming and styrene detailing. The unfortunate grunt was paited Dark Angels Green and detailed with Ice Blue, Boltgun Metal, and Chaos Black. The "officer" was painted with GW Midnight Blue, and Imperial Purple, and his "skull face" was freehanded with Chaos Black, Skull White, Pallid Flesh, and Bleached Bone.

The bigger bad guys are "O scale" model RR Swat figures modded with greenstuff, greebles, and styrene to resemble villains from the game. They were painted Shadow Grey, Chaos Black, and given Blood Red lenses.

The drone is made from bits from my stash of parts including a WH40k guard helmet a 1/35 German helmet, sprue, and pieces of styrene. The drone was Painted Imperial Purple with a Fiery Orange visor.

The base is a wooden plaque painted flat black, the wall is balsa and a piece of moulding, and the ground was built up from putty and covered with model railroad ballast. The floor beams are a piece of plastic grid from a fluourescent light, and the floor grid is needlepoint plastic mesh. The crates and drums are from various toys and model kits, they were painted accordingly and darkened/dirtied with black washes and flesh washes.
