This kit is Roy Folker's VF-0S. In both
Macross(Robotech) and Macross Zero, he's not
necessarily the "main" character, however he is a very
prominant character. His character is developed in
Macross Zero showing how he develops into the "big
brother" persona he protrays for Rick Hunter in
Macross. Roy Folker uses the same paint scheme for
this aircraft/mecha as he does for the production
version: VF-1S in Macross. The paint scheme is then
passed onto Rick Hunter after the demise of Roy
Folker. He is definately a hero in every sense of the
word within the world of Macross Zero and Macross.
This is a box stock Hasegawa VF-0S Battloid. The fun
thing about these kits are the seams that run through
detail lines. So in fixing seams, one needs to
rescribe the detail lines that get removed when
sanding down seams. The kit was primed with Mr
Surfacer 500, then painted with Mr Color lacquer
paints. Future floor polish was sprayed onto the kit
after the paint process to prepare the surface for
decals. Once the decals were placed, another coat of
future floor polish was sprayed. The panel lines were
done using an enamel wash of dark navy gray. A flat
top coat was applied to finish up the piece. The base
is a simple stained and polyeurathaned wood block with
a print out of the Macross Zero logo and Macross
emblem all under a dark smoked clear acrylic plate
fastened to the wood base with black screws.
