The Guyver is an alien artifact from the manga, anime and live action movies "Guyver", created by Yoshiki Takaya. When the dormant alien armor combines with the high school student Sho Fukamachi, they become Guyver I. This anime is different from many other science fiction stories in that most of the technology is biological and alien, so the designs are mostly organic rather than mechanical.

This is one of those 1/12 scale Max Factory vinyl kits that came out about a decade ago, before Max Factory started making 1/12 action figures. It was the "mega-smasher" version, with an open chest weapon, but I modified it using putty and Sculpey polymer clay. I also tilted the head to the right (for a more natural pose) and resin-casted two extended sonic blades (the elbow blades) to replace the short blade that came with the kit. The model is painted with an airbrush and Tamiya paints, with thin post-shading and a wash. I replaced the gravity orb (at the belly) with a ball bearing, and 'plated' the orbs on the head using aluminum foil.
