Pleasure in actually finishing a model: Priceless.
This is the Jedi Starfighter from RC2. I built this as Mace Windu's fighter from "The Clone Wars" Animated Series. I felt as though it didn't get enough screen time and that it probably would have looked better had it appeared in "Revenge of the Sith."
For construction, I modified a few things:
- I round the front bow by using aluminum pipes that were covered in styrene.
- I added another set of guns and "greeblies" that I adapted from an old jet landing gear.
- The R2 unit's head was removed so that it now moves 360 degrees.
- The aft panel near the engines was replaced with parts from an old X-wing kit.
- Added the "antennae" on the canopy
With the painting, I tried to use shades that were as close to what it should look like. There are three different colors of purple on top of a Neutral Gray covering. I weathered it after the main coat was applied using Engine black and flat black both mixed with water. This is the second weathering I've done so forgive me if it looks bad.
Overall, I enjoyed this kit. Thanks for the forums for providing references and tips. Also thanks to my friend Michael J. for helping me with one of the photos.
