John Steed is the English Gentleman which appeared in the classic UK TV Series "The Avengers" in the 1960's and later in the mid 70's in "The New Avengers", a TV series that delt with the bizzare as well as the surreal.

John Steed was released back in 1998 by Juniper, a UK garage kit company, and was limited to 3000 editions, and now sadly out of production and very hard to find. I found mine at Comet Miniatures in London. The kit is made of resin, and is not a solid resin cast but Hollow cast, which made pinning almost impossible. Construction is straight forward, but a lot of work was required on it as the seams were very bad. Painting was done with Tamiya Acrylics, with the Grey used on the suit my only mix and the hat and shoes a lighter shade of the same grey mix. The Handle on the umbrella is actually very thin leather brown as is the end of the umbrella. All this was done by airbrush and a lot of masking tape.
