In Spaceballs the Movie, we met Lone Starr-Hero for Hire, and his side kick Barf. In Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money (the non-existant sequel mind you) Lone Starr and Barf are now married (but not to each other), and out of the hero for hire business. But the urge to travel is still there, but the Winnebago is not. Lone Starr is now driving STARRBARFS only truck, Eagle 6 Champer, a Hummer inspired Camper Truck. STARRBARFS is a business created by Starr and Barf as an excuse to get on the road, doing odd jobs, hauling cargo, anything to get out of the house. Their ride is a stretched Hummer H2 truck with a custom camper shell, with warp drive and hover capabilities.

My goal was to create a cab over camper truck RV/Cargo hauler with some recognizable Star Trek parts to stay in the Mel Brooks/Spaceballs satire mode and I thought the Hummer H2 would be noticeable regardless of my modifications. The base model is a Revell California Wheels H2, with regular tires/rims coming from two Metal Body CSI:Miami H2 kits, and the side pod parts from a ST Runabout.

The hummer shell was cut down to make a cab, and the interior was cut to match. The interior is hand painted acrylics. The exterior is spray painted flat white. The floor pan was stretched and widened (in the camper area), this meant adding material to the exhaust pipes and drive shaft. It was painted by hand using acrylics.

The Camper/Cargo Box is scratch built from sheet styrene. The window is clear styrene, but the rest is spray painted flat white. The Curtain in the cab over area is actual cloth material with an outer space theme. The roof top air conditioner units are dollar store pill organizers, painted after attachment to box. The ladder is from plastruct.

The dual rear tires where made by drilling out one set of rims for a now longer axle to pass through, and a brass spacer was added between the inner and outer wheels. The Runabout side pods were built straight from the box, with some styrene adapters being fabricated so that the pods would mount flat to the box sides. These are hand painted with flat white acrylic. The rear loading ramp is from a sheet of 1/24 scale tread plate. The rear bumper had to be widened to fit the box, and I also widened the rear facia of the hummer to keep the hummer look to the model. I used styrene for this and both parts were hand painted acrylic.

Weathering was done using an acrylic wash. The main decals are from a Microscale HO scale Freedom Train set, with miscellaneous decals from other Microscale products.
