This is a frieghter version of the Aries 1-B. It doesn't have the pretty white paint job that the passenger model has. The landing gear are sturdier and stronger, but do not give as soft a touch-down as the ones found on the passenger version.

It also has a significant coat of moon-dust. Frieght companies didn't consider cleaning off the ships to be a valuable use of time until the dust started interfering with the ship's systems or fuel efficiency.

About the Model

This is a resin kit I picked up at a con several years ago. It isn't the nice version of the Aries 1-b you can get now, but it was pretty good for it's time.

I replaced the landing gear, because they were very bad molds, and would not support the weight of the model.

I lighted the model with some simple decorator lights. I put a shadow box behind the front window, so that it would look like a darkened cockpit with glowing screens. The box is cardboard with a color-printed paper back.
