SPACE IN MINIATURE

This is the Aries 1b passenger shuttle, as seen in the movie "2001, A Space Odyssey". The Aries' primary function is to shuttle passengers to and from the Clavius moon base and the Earth orbiting space station 5.

The kit is the 1:76 scale resin model produced by Captain Cardboard a few years ago, with an aftermarket cockpit kit added. The model has been accurized somewhat to better depict the studio model, and all of the interior cabin lights in the cockpit have been lit with a total of 6 red LEDs. Although the pictures do not do the cockpit justice, the interior lights really add a dramatic touch to the model.
