Scale: 1/48 On July second 1996, Earth was invaded by an alien race intent on wiping out the human race. The turning point in this 2 day war was the use of a captured alien attacker which had crash landed on Earth. Its mission was to infiltrate the mother ship, sabotage their defenses, plant a nuke, and get the heck out. This is the ship that performed the deed. Looking carefully at the movie "Independence Day" it can be seen that a lot of repair work had been done to ship. Such repair work would probably be done with a different kind of material (metal?) and had yellow and black striping painted around the patched areas of the hull. Because the Lindberg model includes these patched areas among the details, the paint job applied supplements that repair work rather than ignoring it. The body is dull silver with an irregular clear smoke over coating, and the patched areas are chrome silver with the appropriate yellow and black striping. The casing for the nuke is also chrome silver to distinguish it from the native components of the craft. |
