The classic 'space wheel' design from the glory days of wonder and imagination; this is a highly modified old Lindberg 'Star Probe Space Base' kit. I rebuilt the entire hub of the wheel, extending it to give the whole construct a more balanced look. Taking the two space taxis as a guide I also decided that the scale was all over the place and so based the final scale on the oversize taxis at about 1/100 scale. This decision led me to take away most of the busy detail - i.e.- millions of rivets! The rest involved fine detailing in terms of giving the taxis crew and clear plastic canopies, scratch building antennas, airlocks and crew.
