Scale: None Stated Cytherean Station One: a manned station orbiting Venus. Orbiting above Venus, this station has a crew of 8 - on of whom is Victor Kaminski, astronomer and planetologist, and soon to be "volunteered" for the upcoming deep space expedition to the moons of Jupiter. CS-1 is more commonoly known as the "ghost station" because its outer hull is completely white. This was done because of the station's proximity to the sun and the need to prevent "hot spots" on the hull. This station is packed to the brim with every conceivable sensor and antenna known to 21st Century man. It's efforts are augmented by many instrument packages on the planet's surface, sending an unceasing stream of data upward at an astounding rate. Soon, this planet shrouded with its continuous cloud cover will no longer be our mysterious neighbor. ABOUT THE MODEL The model was made from various found parts as well as miscellaneous plastruct pieces. It is painted entirely white with no external markings or windows (to better reflect the sun's heat). The idea for the model came from the book, "The Lost Worlds of 2001", page 91, by Arthur C. Clark. Image: Side view Image: Oblique view Image: Other side Image: Antennae Image: Top portion |
