Scale: None stated This is a very simple model of of one of the rocketships from the 1953 movie "Project Moonbase". The film is a spy story about the first manned flight to the moon in 1970. Like most science fiction movies, the hardware is far and away the best part. Robert Heinlein had a role in writing the screenplay, and his hand shows just enough to make this movie more interesting than most. Personally, I think it's better than "Men Into Space". The Mexico and the Canada are the two rockets named in the movie that supply the American space station, itself an interesting flying saucer design. The model parts were just an acrylic wineglass, a baby bottle, and some styrene fins. Image: Top/side view Image: The side with the door Image: Bottom view Image: Top view |
