SPACE IN MINIATURE

This ship is loosely based on the Martian rocketship from "Zombies of the Stratosphere", a 1954 movie serial. The hull is two acrylic wineglasses mounted on a PVC pipe spine. A ring cut from a PVC coupler slip-fit at each end makes the spine essentially self-centering and asssembly much easier! I used a piece of heavy duty schedule 80 PVC, which gives the model a nice heft. Epoxy the ring in place before final assembly. The turret is a gum machine capsule and the ray gun is made from scratch. Markings are masked and painted. The model is a little less than 11 inches long overall.
