Scale: 1/1400 Federation Tactical Warship U.S.S. Tsunami NX-31200-A The Tsunami class, named for an overwhelming wave, is a rugged, overpowered, souped-up warship. In engineering, the level of crystal renegeration cycles in the warp core has been raised to force high rates of energy processing from the dilithium crystals. It's phaser emittors are rigger to fire hot by overloading emitter nodes intentionally and shunting the additional kickback discharge into the ships active defensive hull grid, strengthing the hull should the shields weaken. While this strategy shortens the life of the emmiters, power is more important than longevity in a firefight. On the sides of the massive upper, "Defensive Tackle", hull, armored ports protect the two quantum torpedo bays. Each bay when activated holds two fast repeat torpedo launchers. A protected, underslung shuttlebay is positioned to shield the launches and retrievals of attack fighters or tactical pods. An aft quantum torpedo launcher is also rigged to fire new Tricobalt devices if that level of deadly force is ulitimately required. It's solid, tested warp nacelles arepushed as well, with higher rates of plasma induction and the constant wear and tear of warp warfare. Additionally, overpowered multi-phasic regerarative shielding and the ablative armor that includes a defensive hull grid act as double padding on this bulldog. Truly a scrappy warship. |

About the model: This kitbash utilized a reduced Enterprise C disk and the hull section of a Star Wars Slave One. Both the upper and lower sections of an Enterprise D engineering hull were spooned and turned upside down and then tucked into the Slave One hull. The deflector dish is from a Slave One too. The underslung shuttle bay is the extra bay from the Ent. C kit, as are the nacelles. The bridge deck is from an Enterprise E kit. The color scheme is a Gunship Grey base and aztecing,, (in flat and gloss tones), a gloss gull grey defensive shield grid, and my standard copper on the phaser emitter. (Not sure why I do that, makes them look active and ready to go I guess.) I was very happy with this big shouldered, arch backed, heavy fighting ship that could kick a little Dominion ass.
