Scale: 1/1400

A testament to Chancellor Gowron's ego, this massive battle cruiser designed as his personal flagship is the largest vessel ever built by the Klingon Empire. A behemoth, it is nearly twice the size of the NeGH'Var cruisers and is more heavily armed than any vessel in the Klingon Fleet. The cost of its development and construction taxed the resources of the Empire's Defense Force.

Fitted with a massive forward disrupter canon, ventral disrupter emitters, and multiple torpedo launchers, the VuLK'Tar is well armed to start with, but the Chancellor insisted on new and devastating armaments. As a result, this huge warship carries two Thermal Tricobalt Planet Burners slung underneath its broad main hull, bombs capable of stripping clean a planet's atmosphere. In addition to that, the ship carries a fully rotating disrupter pulse cannon, whose discharge pulses rival the destructive power of a photon torpedo. Covered in thick armor plating and a redundant interior hull, the behemoth hardly needs its powerful, multi-phasic shields. The cloaking device, running on the underside of the command hull and neck, is capable of masking the warp, energy, visual and biological signatures while allowing the ship to travel at high warp and full energy output. It is even difficult for Star Fleet ships, with their sophisticated and rapidly evolving scanning technology, to accurately locate this ship.

Model Notes:

This 21" long model was bashed together from one Kazon Torpedo, one Galor Class Cruiser, two Slave Ones, a K'Tinga cruiser and leftovers from a Vorcha kit. The Galor served as the body of the warship, with wings from the K'Tinga. The Kazon Torpedo made up the extended neck and the command bulb is fashioned from sheet styrene and a section of a Slave One, with the command deck from the Galor. The massive nacelles are the two bodies of the Slaves. The rest form the details of this monster. This was quite a project, and I am very pleased with the result.
