Brakiri Cruiser

By Joe Brown

Scale: 1/1400

The Brakiri Cruiser is one of the larger ships in the League of Non-Aligned worlds. Like the Minbari Warcruiser, it is taller than it is long, almost 1 km tall. This ship mounts four heavy gravitic cannon, making it a fearsome adversary when it attacks, as a target vessel is literally shaken apart; unfortunately, it is slow and unwieldy in combat. Often this ship fell prey to Shadow battlecrabs, and later, the Centauri Vorchan fast attack ships.

Model Construction:

The ship is completely built from blue foam. I discovered a number of illustrations of the ship from varied angles on the 'net, and printed out the ones which would be helpful for a modeler. I used coat hangers as very literal 'underwire' support for foam sections which join the bow of the ship to it's wings.

It's painted a gloss brown The windows are automotive pin-striping, cut to very small (1/16") lengths.

The ship is 14" length-wise, 11" wide at the 'wings', and 18.5" tall.
