By Terry Miesle Scale: Not statedHi, little brother. I thought I’d drop you a line while we have a break in the action. You know I can’t tell you too much about our deployment, maybe once this war is over I can tell you all about it. I did get clearance to send you a picture of one of the Narn G’Quon Class Heavy Cruisers, I know you like the aliens’ ships. There aren’t a whole lot of the G’Quon cruisers left, after their war with the Centauri. So if you get to see one, count yourself lucky. How the Centauri took out so many, I don’t know: these things are tough. |

It seems the Narn value offense more than defense. It can carry fighters, which are almost as good as our Starfuries, but less maneuverable. It does carry anti-fighter defenses, but the ship is best in battle against other capitol ships. It mounts two of the same heavy laser cannons that our Hyperions and Omegas mount, after all we did buy the design from them. They can fire those big cannon at a faster rate than we can, though. They have these energy mines which they use as a stand-off weapon. It’s almost like the old photon torpedoes from Star Trek. They can be set to explode like proximity mines or like a missile. It really does a number on enemy fighters. We find it pretty easy to work with the Narns on fleet maneuvers. They’re aggressive, and their systems integrate with ours pretty well unlike the Minbari ships which are still nearly invisble to our sensors and systems. Their commanders were a little reluctant at first to risk their precious ships, instead of using them for planetary defense. Once they committed to the battle, however, they fought balls-out. I’ll tell you this, if you’re stuck planetside fighting for your life, you want Narns by your side. Well, I gotta get going. I need to get some sleep, you never know when the next battle will happen. Hopefully this will be over soon. Take care of yourself and our little sister, The Model The model is an Agents of Gaming miniature, about 4 inches long. It's finished with acrylics and enamels, and drafting pens. Image: Larger view of above |
