By Terry Miesle Scale: 1/5000Huge, swift, and horribly expensive, the Godsfire ships are true dreadnaughts. While the Valiant and Majestic are less expensive, and may pack a larger anti-ship punch with their massive lasers, the Godsfires are the biggest and most advanced ships in the Jovian fleets and have suitably longer-ranged weapons. Typically used as flagships, they are not limited to that role. Their large crew and electronic warfare capabilities make them difficult targets at best, and their four catapults can launch their many fighters or exo-armors quickly. Exo-armors will tear smaller ships to shreds while the Godsfire concentrates on the enemy capital vessels. It's doubtful very many will be made, the partially-complete fourth hull has just been laid. The ship can deploy centrifuges on tethers to maintain the crew's health. These centrifuge pods are retracted when trouble is anticipated. The Godsfire have perhaps the longest range of any Jovian ships, and can stay on patrol for extended periods. The DP9 Jovian Chronicles Godsfire miniature is only 3 inches long, excluding the aft spines. It's painted mostly with acrylics. It was photographed in front of a picture of Jupiter, and in one shot the post was removed in photoshop. Image: Starboard side (with stand removed) Image: Rear quarter |
