Jovian Defense Forces Valiant-Class Strike Carrier

By Terry Miesle

Scale: 1/5000

The Valiant was designed as a strike carrier with a difference. Not only does it mount 6 large catapults for its fighters and exoarmors, but it mounts a first-generation spinal laser to tear enemy vessels apart. The Valiant relies on its fighters and speed for defense, and mounts primarily offensive weapons. The long extensions are actually centrifuge units, which pivot to a horizontal position. In this way, the accelleration from the ship or spin of the centrifuge maintain artificial gravity for the crew's well-being. The Valiant carriers mount the same drives as the Godsfire, but have much less mass, granting them extraordinary accelleration. They do not carry enoug fuel for extended cruises, and must rely on supply ships for frequent refeuling.

The DP9 Jovian Chronicles Valiant miniature is a mere 2.5 inches long, and is a little piece of art. It's painted with acrylics, and photographed in front of a picture of Jupiter.
