Orion 606

By Wayne Davis

This is the Orion 606 from Fantastic Plastic. It was built straight from the box except for a pair of supports for the solar arrays and a couple of decals. It was a very good casting. Hardly any air bubbles to speak of - a far cry from the previous Orion 604 model they put out. The worst part was the decals. It is highly advisable to coat them with what ever decal strengthener you prefer. They are extremely weak. They provide you with a thin sheet of plastic to place the solar array decals on. I used a couple of left over shuttle decals to help spruce it up a bit. I also added struts to the solar array supports using brass rods. To top it off, I used a Orion lapel pin on the base.
