Galaxy-class Enterprise-D

By Trenton

This is my Galaxy Class Enterprise-D model from Star Trek The Next Generation. As you see this baby is highly detailed (my most detailed model ever). I spray painted it using Camoflauge Gray; the Aztec pattern is hand painted (yes hand painted!) in Light Sea Gray. As most of you have noticed that just above the Captains Yatch the windows that are on the Studio model are not on the model that AMT/ERTL produced. I was very displeased with that, but then I cam across Federation Models, and one of it's suppliers Don's Industrial Light And Magic was selling the correction kit for that, so you can have it just as regular or if you have the fiber optic Enterprise-D you can light the windows (fairly cheap price). For the escape pod hatches, I used JT Graphics Galaxy Class Lifeboats, which went on really well, and look pretty dang close to what they look like on the show. For the phaser banks I used Thomas Models' 1701-D Phaser Banks. And from a distance they do give the illusion of ribbed phaser banks like on the show. I was totally convinced from a distance.
