Whitestar

By Tim Fusco

This is the Warp Shadow Killer (aka Whitestar). It is a well cast GRP kit. Assembly was pretty straightforward. The trick was the painting. So guess what...I did not paint it.

Actually, I based coated the kit with light sea gray. Then I doused it with Future floor wax for that nifty shine. Then, I applied decals I have created. Originally, I e-mailed Willaim Blackmore, who has built a Whitestar kit and has it displayed here on SM. His decals looked good, but I was not happy with the edges (or the scale). The edges were not "soft" enough for me. Using his decals as a template, I downloaded a texture used for creating CG Whitestars and created some of my own. All of the non-gray areas are decals. After all decals were applied, I Futured it again. I touched her up with a little purple dry brushed onto certain areas.

I am really happy with the kit and have started a second.
