by Jason Smith Scale: Not statedIn the early days of the rebellion against the Empire, the designers of the Incom Corporation aligned themselves with the rebels. They planned to equip them with their newest creation, the X-wing fighter. However, spies for the Empire took action to make sure that this would never happen. The Empire took control of Incom, siting them as rebel sympathizers. The gave control of the corporation to its long time rivals, Sienar Fleet Systems, makers of the Empires successful TIE fighter line. After reviewing the plans for the X-wing, Sienar made its own improvements to the design and soon rolled out their own Imperial X-wing. It was a dark day in the history of the rebellion. The Model The model was made from a MPC snap-together X-wing kit and an AMT snap-together TIE Interceptor kit. |

The model was painted with Tamiya and
Testors acrylic paints. The base is from CD Productions. Serious
modification was needed to get the TIE panel to flow with the X-wing
fuselage. I added a console and targeting computer to the cockpit, as well
as adding a TIE fighter pilot's head and breathing apparatus to the existing
pilot. The Imperial logo on the wings was made by airbrushing a mailing
label and then printing over top of the paint.
